As successful as his records and live work, the show featured the usual mixture of classical pieces interspersed with more modern repertoire, all linked by Liberace’s own personality. This mixture made him something of a darling to the grandmothers of America, to whom he almost dedicated his act and ensured Liberace a lasting, if ageing audience.
