A larger than life character from the world of jazz, Thomas ‘Fats’ Waller enjoyed nine years at the top of the entertainment tree before his untimely death (from pneumonia) but left a veritable treasure trove of recordings. He was also a more than accomplished song writer, although many of the copyrights were sold; he is believed to have written such standards as 'I Can’t Give You Anything But Love' and 'On The Sunny Side Of The Street' but never received credit or royalties for either. He did, however, receive credit for 'Ain’t Misbehavin’', the title track to this twenty track compilation. |
